Getting to know me
Hello, I'm Sally.
I am a qualified and NCPS registered and professional accredited psychotherapeutic Counsellor.
Why I became a counsellor.
10 years ago I went through a difficult time where I felt so many emotions that I just could not understand or get over. This carried on for almost a year, took over my life and also affected my family and friends because that is all I could think about and talk about. I knew something had to change, I wanted to understand these fellings, the thoughts and the behaviour. I was done with the burden. I wanted to help myself which led me to also want to help other people because I knew that there are people going through what I am going through or even worse and they need support in not feeling stuck in pain, confusion, overwhelm or whatever you want to call this vicious cycle.
I offer calm and confidential counselling for adults, teens and young people in Northampton and online across the UK.
If things have been feeling overwhelming, or you're finding it difficult to cope, you're very welcome here. There is a space where you can slow things down, talk things through, and take things atyour own pace.
A safe space to talk.
I aim to offer a warm non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and supported. You don't need to have the right words or know exactly what to say. We can figure things out together, gently and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How I work.
My approach is calm, grounded and centred around you. I will not rush you or expect you to share more than you are ready for.
Some people come with something specific they want support with. Others just know something does not feel right. Both are completely okay.
Qualifications.
I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 5 Proffesional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling . A National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society Approved Certificate. Trained in the Pluralistic Approach.
A Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body lLevel 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
Counselling Approach I use.
Pluralism strongly emphasises working collaboratively with you to identify what you want from therapy and how to best achieve those goals. This active involvement can empower you , making you the co- pilot of your therapeutic journey.
It offers flexibility meaning I am allowed to incoperate various therapeutic styles to suit the specific issues you present. This flexibilty allows for a more tailored approach that can adjust to your changing needs and circumstances throughout the therapeutic process.
Pluralism avoids the one size fits all and it recognizes the sophistication of human experiences and challenges, be they emotional, behavioural, cognitive, or relational. The Pluralistic approach uses frequent feedbacks tools to determine what is or is not working for you allowing me to adjust the way I am working with you.
